Torchlight is ready to host its second X-Wing System Open this November!

The event format is using the XWA rule set which can be found @ www.xwing.life

Only official documents published before Nov 2nd, 2026 at midnight Eastern Time will be in effect. Any changes to rules and official ship and upgrade points made after Nov 2nd will be ignored and not used in this event.

Day 1 = Saturday November 14th 2026 9am registration, 9:45am dials down

Day 2 = Sunday November 15th 2026 9am check in, 9:30am dials down

The event will be 5 rounds of Swiss on Day 1 playing each scenario. All those with a record of 4-1 or greater will proceed to day 2. The number of rounds of day 2 will be determined by the number of players in cut.

• This event is an official ‘System Open’ and will be deemed ‘competitive-casual’

• Players are expected to have some knowledge of the game rules.

• Paper copy of lists are permitted for use and at least 2 copies of your list should be brought for your opponents and judges to review

• Ships, tokens, templates, cards and damage decks may be proxied as long as they are easily recognizable and/or match the original specification. 

• Player lists and obstacles shall be inputted in the longshanks before Wednesday the 11th 12pm.

• We will play 2 rounds then have a lunch break then play another 3 rounds

Side Events

On Day 2, we will host several casual side events for players to join.

• Aces High – 1 ship which can not have a cost higher than 16 points and uses the current load our value that ship has from standard play

Note

If anyone has any old game components whether they are official or not and don’t have a use for them we will have a donation box at the event so these items can be repurposed as prize support for other communities

Prizing

There are plenty of participation prizes included in this year’s kit, starting with new pilots!

XWA produced alt art versions of the new pilots Kazuda Xiono (Resistance, T-70), Quinlan Vos (Republic, ETA-2) and Ursa Wren (Republic, Gauntlet) will be yours for playing in the event! Not only that but you’ll be getting some beautiful System Open exclusive tokens too!

That’s right, you’ll be getting THREE shield tokens and FIVE evade tokens for participation!

Players who make it to the top 16 of the event will receive a double sided Hera Syndulla (Ghost)/Ursa Wren (Gauntlet) acrylic base plate for the new pilots.

For the top 8 we have two more of the new cards; Fennec Shand (Scum Crew) and Wedge Antilles (Resistance Gunner)

If you make it a step further into the top 4 then you’ll also get Ahsoka Tano (Rebel Crew) and Thrawn (Imperial Crew)!

The two players who make it to the final table will BOTH receive a pair of the XWA Worlds 2026 glass dice! Both players will also receive a 3D printed bounty puck and BYE at the X-Wing World Championships!

To celebrate this, the winner will receive a trophy to forever celebrate their skills!
